2. Aalto University

This university is the result of a merger of three educational institutions formed in 2010, namely: Helsinki University of Technology, Helsinki School of Economics, and University of Art and Design Helsinki.

This university was formed because the Finnish government wanted to create a new university that would become a role model for innovation and become a symbol of quality higher education. Currently, the university has 20,000 students and is the third largest university in Finland.

3. University of Turku

Finland’s second largest university has 20,000 international students. The main campus is located in Turku, southwest Finland. Apart from the main campus, the university also has campuses in Rauma, Pori and Salo. The University of Turku focuses on international collaboration. A number of master’s and PhD programs offered are the result of collaboration with various universities in the world.

4. University of Jyväskylä

Founded in 1934, the University of Jyväskylä was originally the first college to offer Finnish teacher training. Currently, the university has 15,000 students spread across 7 faculties and remains the best university in Finland for teacher education and training programs. 5. University of Eastern Finland

The university was formed in 2010 through the merger of the University of Joensuu and the University of Kuopio. Currently there are 15,000 students spread across the four faculties. Its main campuses are located in the cities of Joensuu and Kuopio, and several facilities are also located in Savonlinna.

6. Tampere University of Technology (TUT)

The university combines strong traditions of natural science and engineering research, as well as industry and business-related research. The advantage of this university is that it can create interactions between fundamental and applied research, extensive international networks, as well as high-quality research projects in various fields. TUT also continues to collaborate with companies and industry. Currently TUT has around 10,500 students and 2,000 staff.

7. Lappeenranta University of Technology (LUT)

Lappeenranta University of Technology (LUT) is the first science university in Finland, which has integrated science and business since 1969. Its international community consists of around 6,000 students and experts active in scientific research and academic education. LUT offers a Master of Technology and Business Administration program which is popular with international students.
